Qualitative research methos

The SAGE Encyclopedia of Qualitative Research Methods presents current and complete information, as well as ready-to-use techniques, facts, and examples from the field of qualitative research in a very accessible style. The volume is designed to appeal to undergraduate and graduate students, practitioners, researchers, consultants, and consumers of information across the social sciences, humanities, and health sciences. The encyclopedia provides a much more comprehensive examination of qualitative methods than is found in other published texts, as it is designed to appeal to readers across disciplines. In taking an interdisciplinary approach, this encyclopedia targets a much broader audience than other texts; it fills a gap in the existing reference literature for a general, interdisciplinary guide to the core concepts that inform qualitative research practices. Theachers' perspectives on the national core curriculum of basic education 2016

Phenomenon-based learning, alongside traditional subject teaching, was included in the new National Core Curriculum and entered Finnish schools in fall 2016. Phenomenon-based learning is applied through multi-disciplinary modules and aims for transversal competence. It encourages students to connect learnings to the “real world” context and take on a phenomenon entity as a starting point. The world has become more fragmented where the consequences and chain reactions of one’s actions are often hard to calculate and the big picture is difficult to see. Skills in understanding complexity and connections are essential in overcoming challenges of climate change and building a sustainable future. A shift to more sustainable lifestyles lies in behavioral change where education has a role in. El aprendizaje basado en fenómenos, junto con la enseñanza de los temas tradicionales, se incluyó en el nuevo Currículo Nacional Base y entró en las escuelas finlandesas en el otoño 2016. El

Education System in Finland

One of the basic principles of Finnish education is that all people must have equal access to high-quality education and training. The same educational opportunities should be available to all citizens irrespective of their ethnic origin, age, wealth or where they live. Most institutions providing basic and upper secondary level education are maintained by local authorities or joint municipal consortia. Responsibility for educational funding is divided between the State and the local authorities. Most private institutions do not differ from those that are publicly maintained.  GO TO DOCUMENT Source:  https://www.oph.fi/

Phenomenon-Based Learning: What is PBL?

In Finnish schools, phenomenon-based learning is changing the face of education with its interdisciplinary approach. Read on to understand why PBL works.  Finland is considered one of the global superstars of education. Boasting innovative teaching methods and stellar results on international tests, many educators are wondering what Finland has been doing to set itself apart from the rest of the world. One of the cutting-edge approaches that Finland is using in its schools is called phenomenon-based learning (PBL). An Overview of Phenomenon-Based Learning Phenomenon-based learning does not include a strict set of rules, but rather comprises a combination of beliefs and best practices, supported by ongoing research. In this approach, a classroom observes a real-life scenario or phenomenon — such as a current event or situation present in the student’s world — and analyzes it through an interdisciplinary approach. As explained in the EdTech review, an essential part of t

Towards a New End: New Pedagogies for Deep Learning

New Pedagogies for Deep Learning: a global partnership seeks to renew our goals for education and learning, to include skills that prepare all learners to be life-long creative, connected and collaborative problem solvers and to be healthy, happy individuals who contribute to the common good in today’s globally interdependent world. We need our learning systems to encourage youth to develop their own visions about what it means to connect and flourish in their constantly emerging world, and equip them with the skills to pursue those visions. This expansive notion, encompassing the broader idea of human flourishing, is what we mean by “deep learning.” The skills described below are an initial summary of deep learning skills, which will be further refined and operationalized in the early stages of the project through collaboration with partners.
